Providing dentists a way to simply and effectively treat patients suffering from tension and migraine headaches by reducing the intensity of jaw clenching while the patient sleeps.

Our bite splints and mouth guards are designed to fit the occlusal specifications of the individual patient – ideal for those situations when wear is showing due to bruxing or when there is a desire to add an extra level of protection to a new prosthetic. Whether the situation calls for a hard material, soft material, or some combination of the two, our laboratories have the perfect solution.

For athletes, NDX laboratories offer a wide variety of sports guards. A significant upgrade over “boil and bite” guards, our sports mouth guards provide unmatched protection and a comfortable, custom fit.

The NTI-tss Plus™ does the job of a bite guard, but covers only the front teeth. The NTI-tss Plus is a small, clear, “taco shell”-shaped appliance. Attached on the incisal edge of the shell is an anterior-posterior discluding element (DE) that provides for a point stop on the mesial-incisal edges of the two opposing central incisors.

The NTI-tss Plus is made from Clear 450® thermoplastic material. The high-heat, high-pressure injection process guarantees a perfect fit with proven durability. Clear 450 is clinically unbreakable, provides a perfect fit with no shrinkage and will not absorb stains or odors. Clear 450 does not contain Bisphenol-A.

Developed by James P. Boyd, DDS, the NTI-tss Plus therapeutic protocol is the only laboratory-produced, customizable alternative to the chairside NTI-tss. Originally developed to prevent migraine pain, the NTI-tss Plus has proven to be a superior alternative to full-coverage bite guards.

The NTI-tss Plus is available only through NDX laboratories.

TAP 3 and TAP Elite

Two of the most common oral appliances designed for relief of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) disorder are the TAP 3 and TAP Elite appliances. TAP is made of two custom inter-occlusal parts that fit over the mandible and the maxilla. The upper portion of the device hooks into the lower portion, enabling the mandible to be pulled forward. Using a dial mechanism, the appliance is titratable, allowing adjustment to determine the degree to which the jaw is held forward. By holding the mandible forward, the TAP maintains a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing. The TAP Elite allows more lateral movement, improving patient comfort and compliance.

The American Academy of Sleep Medicine now recommends oral appliances such as ClearDream as a front line of treatment for snoring and sleep apnea, and in cases where CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) has not been tolerated. What people like about oral appliances is that they fit entirely inside the mouth, they are portable, they do not use electricity or make noise that would bother a sleeping partner, and they allow the wearer to change sleep positions. ClearDream is FDA cleared for treatment of both obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. The ClearDream holds the lower jaw in a forward position so that it does not shift or fall open during the night. This prevents the airway from collapsing. The more you pull your jaw forward, the more your airway will open.

EMA is a simple, patient-friendly oral appliance for noninvasive treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is the temporary cessation of breathing during sleep. Sleep Apnea sufferers will often snore or awake gasping for breath. Apnea-related disturbances occur repeatedly, resulting in restless sleep and daytime drowsiness. The disease can cause serious health issues including increased blood pressure and the restriction of oxygen to the brain and blood stream. EMA is relatively less expensive than other oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea.
